Living Dreams (Soñar Despierto) is an international organization founded in Monterrey, Mexico in 1998 to help ease the plight of less privileged children. Soñar Despierto (to dream wide-awake) has been established in over 30 locations in 11 countries across Latin America, Europe and now, Southeast Asia. Its mission is to bring joy and hope to children in need by providing social and recreational outreach activities This virtue is characterized by the promotion of human values like generosity, friendship and social responsibility through the participation of young people.
Co-founded in the Philippines by Ateneo de Manila students under Regnum Christi, it has successfully organized numerous events since it started in 2003 – allowing hundreds of youth to offer and share their time with the Filipino children. Living Dreams Philippines has held Christmas parties, theme park events, medical missions and other recreational activities with tapped institutions in the Philippines and plans to expand its reach to more and more children across the country to promote solidarity, freedom and, love among all.
MISSION
Living Dreams strives to be a living means to bring hope and joy to the children in need so as to contribute to the building of a more just, fairer and freer world. This will be accomplished through the promotion of human values in children and in the young volunteers as well who, day by day fight to make their dreams real through concrete actions. We aim to establish a bond of friendship and solidarity between the volunteers and the kids and, through personal attention, to extend these bonds to their families and loved ones alike.
VISION
To be an association known throughout the world as a fountain of hope and support that impacts society in an effective way- promoting its principles and values, and striving to encourage its development. We also envision to maintain our presence internationally by involving the biggest number of volunteers as possible to benefit, through our projects, as many children as possible. Living Dreams wants to grow and form a part of all those communities around the world, where children suffer insufficiency, and in turn where people have the intention of helping relieve these sufferings. Transmitting the idea that the true well being of humanity can only be reached when there are generous and charitable people that know how to share their blessings with everyone else.
